On the 16th of November, 2023, a remarkable event unfolded that brought together the powerhouses of the electric vehicle (EV) industry: WiRE, Plug’n Drive, and EMC. This event was not just another networking experience, but a unique convergence of c-suite level professionals from various sectors. It provided a platform for these industry leaders to exchange insights, share their experiences, and forge powerful connections that could shape the future of the EV industry.

The day began with a delightful breakfast, setting the stage for the enlightening discussions that were to follow. A panel discussion, featuring high-level executive women, shed light on the challenges and solutions related to EV adoption. The panel included Joanna Osawe, the President & CEO of WiRE, Cara Clairman, the President & CEO of Plug’n Drive, Alyse Wilton, the Manager of Environmental Health Program at NB Lung, and Jennie Wadden, the Supervisor of Marketing at takeCHARGE, Newfoundland Power. The discussion was expertly moderated by Laura Miller, the Director of Public Policy & Communications at Uber. The audience was deeply engaged, reflecting the relevance and impact of the topics discussed.

Following the panel discussion, attendees boarded an all-electric shuttle bus to the EVVE Tradeshow at the Edmonton EXPO centre. The energy of the event carried right over to the floor of the Tradeshow, where interactive exhibits and hands-on test drives kept the excitement levels high.

Post-lunch, a mentorship session was held, bringing together mentors and students from various universities and colleges around Edmonton. The session was a resounding success, with both mentors and students expressing their satisfaction and fulfillment from the experience.

WiRE extends its heartfelt gratitude to all the energy professionals who contributed as mentors, and to everyone else who played a part in making this event a success. Your support has been invaluable and is greatly appreciated. This event stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and the bright future of the EV industry.
