Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) is a global non-profit organization with a presence across nearly every continent, dedicated to addressing the unique challenges faced by different communities, regions, and cities in the renewable energy sector. Our philosophy is to “think globally and act locally”, tailoring our support to the specific needs of each area to effect the most meaningful change.

Firstly, you can sponsor one or more WiRE chapters, each of which is actively engaged in initiatives and events tailored to their local context. Before you commit to sponsoring WiRE, we will collaborate with you to develop a comprehensive twelve-month plan detailing how your organization will be involved. This includes participation in various events and initiatives, as well as exclusive opportunities such as invitation-only events like the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change’s (UNFCCC) annual Conference of Parties (COP).

While financial contributions are often the first thought when considering support for WiRE, we recognize and value the myriad of other ways in which organizations and individuals can contribute. We welcome and encourage a diverse range of support, including but not limited to, consultation services, subject matter expertise, speaking opportunities, event materials, catering, and event spaces.

Through what we term ‘capacity sponsorship’, we are able to generate income by leveraging these non-monetary contributions to create high-quality and strategic fundraising opportunities within our programming. This innovative approach allows us to offer a wide array of events and services such as networking events, field trips, talks, workshops, mentoring sessions, career fairs, and webinars.

Capacity sponsorship can take many forms. For instance, providing us with a venue for networking events or field trips, catering for in-person gatherings, or offering expert insights for our talks and workshops. As a dynamic organization, we pride ourselves on our creativity and flexibility in forming partnerships that are mutually beneficial.
