Ayesha Mehmood is a third-year Bachelor of Automation Engineering Technology student at McMaster University. She chose automation engineering as her field of study because she has a keen interest in artificial intelligence and wants to pursue it in the future. She has acquired skills in C++, object-oriented programming, RSLogix 5000, LogixPro 500, AutoCAD and SolidWorks through her program. She also has experience in building complex circuits with diodes and op-amps. She is currently doing a three-month co-op at WSP Canada, where she works as an electrical engineer intern. She has learned a lot about electrical power systems, single line diagrams and duct banks during her co-op. She is also fascinated by renewable energy and wants to promote its use. She is passionate about encouraging other women to pursue a career in engineering.
