Côte d’Ivoire is a key energy supplier in its region, generating excess electricity and boasting reserves of natural gas and recent offshore oil discoveries. In 2015, it produced 648 ktoe of electricity, majorly from fossil fuels and hydro sources. By 2017, nearly 60% of the population had access to electricity, crucial for economic growth and improved living standards.
