Shaping the Future: The Middle East ESG Reporting Summit

On December 7th, a pivotal event in the realm of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) took place: The Middle East ESG Reporting Summit. This summit was designed to serve as a crucial platform for knowledge exchange, best practice sharing, and collaboration among stakeholders in the ESG sector. The discussion encompassed a broad range of topics, including ESG management, emerging trends and requirements in ESG reporting, and the utilisation of digital solutions for ESG data management.

The event was supported by several partners, one of which was Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE). Among the 25 distinguished speakers invited to the event was Dana Darwish, one of the UAE Chapter Leaders for WiRE. Darwish is a recognized ESG Advisory Consultant at WSP in the Middle East, with expertise in ESG strategy development, integration and implementation, ESG cultural and operational transformation, and reporting and disclosures.

In a panel discussion titled ‘Integrating ESG Factors into Corporate Strategy and Decision-Making’, Darwish leveraged her extensive ESG consulting expertise to share valuable insights, lessons learned, and strategic approaches. Her contributions underscored the importance of gender balance in the sector and the need for significant efforts to address inequality in the workplace.

The Middle East ESG Reporting Summit was a catalyst for change in the ESG landscape. By fostering dialogue and collaboration among key stakeholders, the event highlighted the transformative potential of ESG in the Middle East and beyond.
