WiRE Women of Distinction Awards recognize and celebrate professional women working in the energy sector who go above and beyond business-as-usual, consistently demonstrate outstanding leadership, and have contributed significantly to the expansion and improvement of the power sector. WiRE presents three Women of Distinction Awards annually: Wind Power, Solar Power and Woman of the Year.

Nominations are open for the following awards:

1. WiRE Woman of the Year Award

This year’s awards will be presented at the Association of Power Producers of Ontario’s 29th Annual Canadian Power Conference Banquet Dinner on November 20th, 2017 in Toronto.

Nominations close October 6th at 11:59EST.

2. WiRE Solar Power Woman of Distinction Award

This year’s award will be presented at the Canadian Solar Industries Association’s Game Changer Awards, on December 5th, 2017 in Toronto.

Nomination Criteria:

The nominee must stand out as a leader who has contributed significantly to the expansion and improvement of the solar power sector (Solar Award) or overall energy sector (WOTY Award). This may be demonstrated by the nominee through excellence in areas such as leadership, policy and advocacy, technical advancement and R&D, project development, community engagement and increased adoption of RE technologies, volunteering and/or being a role model contributing to the advancement of women in the energy sector.  The nominee must be a woman working in Canada.
